How does PlatPost write posts that sound like you?

By Guy Hamilton, founder of PlatPost. Last updated .

The short answer

You paste a few posts you wrote yourself. PlatPost measures your habits, such as sentence length, emoji use and how casual you are, and every draft follows them. A draft may use only the facts in your Business Brain, so it sounds like you and says nothing you did not tell it.

Step one: the Business Brain

The Business Brain is one form about your business. It holds what you sell, who buys it, the problem you solve, how you differ, the words you use, the words you never use, your goal, and the facts the writer is allowed to quote.

You fill it in once. Every draft reads it, so you never explain your business to a blank box again.

Step two: your own writing

Paste a few things you actually wrote. PlatPost measures them. It counts how long your sentences are, whether you say "I", how often you use contractions, whether you use emoji, and how often you ask a question.

It then writes a short description of your voice. You can read it and edit it. The description is yours, not a hidden setting.

Step three: three drafts, three shapes

Give one raw idea and pick a tone. There are 12 tones: Friendly, Professional, Serious, Playful, Blunt, Warm, Dry, Reflective, Urgent, Matter-of-fact, Storytelling and Encouraging.

You get three drafts, each a different shape: a story, a number and a question. You edit them, mark whether each one sounds like you, and keep or bin it.

Why it does not make things up

The writer is told to use only the facts in your Business Brain. When a draft needs a fact you did not give, it leaves a gap in square brackets, for example a gap that asks how many customers you served. You fill the gap or cut the line.

This matters because a post with an invented number is worse than no post. It is your name on it.

An AI model can still be wrong. Read every draft before you approve it. Nothing goes out until you do.

Questions people ask

How many sample posts does PlatPost need?
A few posts you wrote yourself are enough for it to measure your habits. More samples give it more to measure.
Will PlatPost invent facts about my business?
It is instructed not to. A draft may only use facts in your Business Brain, and a missing fact shows as a marked gap. An AI model can still be wrong, so read every draft.
Can I change the tone of a post?
Yes. You pick one of 12 tones for each run, and you can edit every draft by hand.
