How do you schedule LinkedIn posts with PlatPost?
By Guy Hamilton, founder of PlatPost. Last updated .
The short answer
Connect your LinkedIn account, give PlatPost one idea, and approve the drafts it writes in your voice. Drag a draft onto a day, tick LinkedIn, and PlatPost posts it at the time you chose.

How to schedule a LinkedIn post
The steps are the same for every network.
- Connect your LinkedIn account in Connected Channels.
- Open Create, type one idea and pick a tone. PlatPost writes three drafts in your own voice.
- Edit the drafts, fill any gap, and keep the ones you like.
- Drag a kept draft onto a day on the calendar and tick LinkedIn.
- Set the time. PlatPost posts it then, and the calendar shows that it went out.
LinkedIn limits that PlatPost checks
The text limit PlatPost uses for LinkedIn is 3,000 characters. The composer counts as you type.
A LinkedIn post can be text alone. You can add an image or a video from the media studio.
Post to LinkedIn and your other networks together
One idea can go to LinkedIn and to any of the other 15 networks in the same step. Each post is written for its network, never one text copied across.
When you tick more than one network, the composer counts against the tightest limit, so the post fits everywhere you send it.
The route PlatPost uses
PlatPost posts to LinkedIn through the route the network approves for apps. It never uses scraping or a copied browser session, because that can get an account restricted.
Questions people ask
- Can PlatPost post to LinkedIn automatically?
- Yes. After you approve a post and set its time, PlatPost posts it to LinkedIn at that time. Nothing goes out without your approval.
- What is the character limit for a LinkedIn post in PlatPost?
- 3,000 characters. The composer counts as you type, and it uses the tightest limit when you tick more than one network.
- Does a LinkedIn post need an image or a video?
- No. Text alone is enough, and you can add media if you want.
